Debra C. Stokan, M.D.
Psychiatrist
Dr. Stokan is trained as a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She has been serving both the west side of Houston and the Fort Bend County areas for over 18 years in private practice.
My Story
She completed her medical student education, and both her general psychiatry residency program and her child and adolescent fellowship at the University of Texas Medical School – Houston. Upon graduation from medical school, Dr. Stokan was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. During her child fellowship, she was awarded a fellowship for additional training in family therapy techniques.​Dr. Stokan evaluates children, adolescents, and adults with emotional and behavioral disturbances, and where indicated, provides medication management. She has a particular interest in early childhood evaluations and intervention. Because she believes early intervention provides the best prognosis, Dr. Stokan has a strong dedication to mental health education in families, schools, and medical communities.​She also has a strong training background in dynamic psychiatry and the integration of psycho-therapeutic techniques with psychopharmacology.
